Adorable Snowman Decorations for Everyone

Having grown up in Alaska it is not surprising that I have what I call a 'childish love' for snowmen. I must have made hundreds of them during the long Alaskan winters when there was never a lack of the necessary raw materials. I'm sure my mother was annoyed with the buttons that would regularly disappear from her sewing supplies but she never let on when I would proudly present to her my latest creation. Thanks Mom!

In my mind, snowmen became inseparably linked to winter and Christmas especially. Christmas was just not Christmas without snow and snowmen! However, life took me away from Alaska and on to Southern California. While So Cal is beautiful and there is always plenty to do, it didn't help to foster my love for snowmen. So, during the holiday season, I found myself collecting snowman ornaments and decorations. Much to the annoyance of my family, I'm sure. If I couldn't make myself a snowman, then I certainly could surround myself with snowman ornaments and decorations. Snowmen help to bring back fond memories of my lost youth and do so for many of us.

There are many ways snowmen can bring fun and joy to your holidays. Whether it be with snowman ornaments, snowman wreaths or tableware and settings. There are limitless ways to brighten up your home during the holidays with snowmen.

The fireplace can be decorated with the requisite stocking and stocking holders. Even the bathroom can be decorated with bathroom sets, toilet cover appliques, tissue box covers and towel sets.

Don't forget the kid's rooms either. Snowman bedding and pillows will extend their excitement to bed time! Wall appliques and scene setters will dress up your children's room and are great fun to apply! They are removable and many are reusable!

Your yard and the outside of your house are the first things your holiday guests and passersby will see. Dress it up! The possibilities are endless and if you can think of it, someone has probably made it. Let your creativity and imagination run wild. After all, how often can adults get away with such childish behavior! During the holidays it is not only acceptable it is almost expected!

Each year growing up my parents would buy a single snowman collectible ornament. We would search and shop for weeks to find that perfect ornament to add to the collection. The collectibles would be specially displayed on the sofa table. They were beautiful and prized.

Consider starting your own collection whether it is snowman ornaments, Department 56 collectibles, Thomas Kinkade or whatever you like. As the years pass your collection will grow and you just may start a family tradition. You will also have a collection of heirlooms to pass on to your children and their children after them. Christmas is all about building traditions and cherished memories.

Now, I know that not everyone loves snowman ornaments as much as I. I know some people who are passionate about reindeer and others that love angels or Santa, of course. Whatever your passion, the idea is to use it as a theme for your holiday decor. Have fun with it, express yourself and be creative. There is no lack of beautiful and fun decorations out there and the sky is the limit. Well, maybe your budget is the limit. Whichever comes first!
